Himeji castle, popularly known as Himeji-jo is situated in Honshu which is the key island of the country Japan. The castle is also known as Hakuro-jo or White Egret Castle and Shirasagi-jo or White Heron Castle. The courtesy for such names goes to the outer walls of the castle which is white colored along with the rooftops which resembles a bird which is spreading its big wings just before the take off. Although the entire construction work of this castle began during 1333AD but the main structure that you can see in present was mainly developed during the 17th century.
